Welcome back to Top 10 Tuesday. I must admit I am somewhat of a TV junkie during the fall. Aside from college football (which captivates my attention on Saturdays), and NFL on Sundays, I have a few series here and there that I enjoy. Here is a list of sitcoms I am looking forward to this upcoming fall ’08. I won’t go too much into too much plot detail as I have provided links directly to their sites.
10. SONS OF ANARCHY
This is a new series. I only watched the first episode, but I am interested in seeing how it unfolds. It is about an outlaw biker gang. First episode was interesting to me, so we shall see.
Season Premiere: September 3, 10PM
9. BURN NOTICE
This is somewhat cheating to be on the list. This was actually a summer series, but the final two episodes won’t be until fall (don’t ask me why). Show is about this ex spy who was burned by someone in the buruea. He is in Miami doing side work while still trying to figure out who did it. The show is clever, has action, is smart and there are bits of humor sprinkled throughout. I missed the entire second season this summer, but I will try to catch the last two episodes at least.
Season Premiere: September 11, 10/9c
Season Premiere: September 28, 8/9c
I missed a few episodes so sometimes I get a tad bit lost, but the premise is intriguing. Normal people with extraordinary powers. Sounds cheesy, but it is really slick how they wrote it. One of those shows you can watch it without knowing anything about the plot and get into it (off action alone).
Season Premiere: September 22, 9/8c
I must be a glutton for punishment. I don’t know why I continue to watch this series thinking it will get to the point. Smallville is about Superman…aka Kal-El…aka Clark Kent. First few series were really good and well written. As of lately (last couple seasons), it just seemed to drag on. Yet in still, I still have to see what happens. There have been rumors that Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) and Lana (Kristen Kreuk) won’t be returning. Lana is no loss, but I don’t see how they can run the show without Mr. Luthor.
Season Premiere: September 18, 8/7c
6. 30 ROCK
A couple friends of mine (in Memphis and Cleveland) got me hip to this show. They went on and on about how funny it was. I rented the first season and the first couple episodes were real stupid. But I kept trucking through, and about 4 in it started to become hilarious. Very witty, and will leave you with some lines you won’t forget…like the Ruror Juror.
Season Premiere: October 30th, 9:30/8:30c
Season Premiere: September 25th, 9/8c
3. CHUCK –
I stumbled upon this show on accident. I woke up from a nap on the couch and it was on. Chuck is this guy who got all these government secrets embedded in his brain (long story how). I don’t know why I particularly like this show, but I do.
Season Premiere: September 29, 9/8c
Season Premiere: September 2, 10PM ET
2. ONE TREE HILL –
Shut up, this list is not for debate (lol). I said sitcom’s I’m looking forward to. Ok, I only admitted this to Juggernaut, but OTH is my silent obsession. I got hooked to the plot from season one, and now I am addicted. What?
Season Premiere: September 1, 9/8c
1. FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS –
I truly enjoy this series. I won’t go all longwinded on it, but it is good. I have heard about a couple spoilers, but I won’t ruin it for you so you can click the link below if interested. I will say that I was just about to switch from DTV to FiOS when I found out the season 3 run will air on DirecTV (#101) first…then replay on NBC later next year.
Season Premiere: October 1
Station: NBC / DirecTV
I like NUMB3RS (CBS) but I always miss when it comes on. I heard PRISON BREAK (FOX) is good, but I missed the first seasons, and trying to jump in now things are just over my head. There are a couple other shows I watch while eating dinner or if nothing else is on. Shows like THE GAME (CW) or MTB4 (MTV).
There is supposed to be a show called FRINGE (FOX) which is like a CSI, crime, etc etc. type show. Heck, I really don’t know from the previews but I dvr’d it. THE MENTALIST (CBS) is another one of these new shows I want to check out. My only fear is it will be one of those shows like JOHN DOE (I loved that joint) or STANDOFF. Shows that will play for a couple episodes, then get canceled after you are hooked. They are coming out with another KNIGHT RIDER (NBC) which my friend put best, “I was done when I saw Kit was now a Transformer.” Lol. Even though I like a lot of shows on NBC, sometimes they go overboard…for example that wack BIONIC WOMAN.
